    I’m rewatching this film. lkasdjfasdf I love love love LOOOOOVE this scene of Digimon Adventure 02: Diaboromon’s Revenge (2001)!! No matter how many times I watch it, I fangasm all over it!

    1st) because we can FINALLY recognise the Taichi Yagami we learn of the first series! This is the same fellow who wants to punch the evil mon in the face and won’t let other people risk their necks (not even Daisuke) because he wants to do it himself! This is the Taichi we know and here he’s capable for doing it without losing the “grown up” aura. Dammit, THIS FILM gives me in 10 seconds everything Zero Two’s fifty episodes never acomplished: Taichi being Taichi and Daisuke being Daisuke, the same time, same place, same situation - without having to cast one aside to make the other part shine. (This is what I dislike the most about the Zero Two series when the Daisuke group appeared; Taichi and the veterans turned out so ooc it’s painful to watch. Guess only Koushirou kept in chara. x.x It actually made me hate Daisuke’s sole existence for a few years.)

    2nd) Hikari’s reaction to his’ is so rich and ambiguous it’s just as enjoyable. She’s like she’s going to cry and beg him to not get involved out of pure worrying. I’ve always wondered why? Okay, I know they’re siblings alright, but they’re the chosen children and it isn’t like this is the first time Taichi jumped into a fight. So, why? It makes you wonder if something happened to Taichi recently… or it could even be Hikari’s “Oh but we shouldn’t kill digimon” thing. I would have certainly thought so weren’t for Tailmon’s words - “Everything’s going to be okay, Hikari” - as her big brother departs. This proofs Hikari’s love for her brother above everything in the world.

    3rd) Daisuke’s reaction. The way he rushes and wants to help his senpai fight Diaboromon. I take this as more than his standard “I want to fight and solve this” - I believe Daisuke did it both because of his devotion to Taichi and because of Hikari’s reaction. Then Daisuke sulks about being told to capture Kuramons instead of joining the fight. I’m sure he only kept quiet because it was “Taichi-san” talking and he’s probably the only one who get’s his respect. Pretty sure Daisuke would have thrown a ruckus and insisted to go if it were Koushirou or any other of the kids talking. xD
